The City of Melville allows for the installation of memorials within public land if the for of an aluminum seat with a plaque attached to the back rest.
The City of Melville allows for the installation of memorials within public land, in the form of an aluminium seat with plaque attached to the backrest. The applicant is required to pay the cost of the supply and installation, prior to any works being carried out. Into the future the applicant will also be responsible for the ongoing maintenance of the plaque, whilst the City will maintain the seat and concrete pad.
Whilst the City has a preference for these to be installed in located at Point Walter Reserve, Centennial Park and The Esplanade foreshore, other locations will be considered on an individual basis. Please note that requests for memorials at Deep Water Point or along the Point Walter foreshore will not be accepted, as the City has decided to keep these two premier locations free of memorials.
To request a memorial complete the application form and forward it back to the City. Your request will then be assessed and if accepted you will be forwarded a quote for payment. Upon receipt of payment the City will arrange the manufacture and installation of your memorial.
